Philosophy
We believe that therapeutic success is achieved through the development of insight into one's unconscious processes and understanding its impact on current conflicts. As partners in the client's treatment we encourage utilization of the therapeutic relationship to bring about awareness, thereby leading to change. The common goal of treatment is to develop coping strategies to deal with feelings that accompany one's experiences. According to The Adinkra Dictionary by W. Bruce Willis, “This stalk is depicted as the staff of life in many cultures. It symbolizes to the Akan, that food is a basis of life and that they could not survive if not for the food that God has placed here on Earth for their nourishment.” It is Metropolitan Comprehensive Health Services’ belief that with faith and trust in GOD, the development of insight, the development of a strong therapeutic relationship, one can become aware of oneself and become equipped to lead a productive, successful and rewarding life. In examining the past and present, our clients are able to begin to take steps towards a healthy future.
